Prostitution Research and Education, PRE – founded in 1995 by Dr. Melissa Farley (view Dr. Farley’s CV), a research and clinical psychologist. Since that time, thousands of researchers, legislators, survivors, activists, and advocates in the US and around the world have turned to PRE for carefully researched facts about trafficking and prostitution. PRE has provided research data and consulting to agencies around the world offering services to women escaping prostitution. PRE collaborates with other organizations in our research and educational projects whenever possible.
Collective Shout – is a grassroots campaigning movement against the objectification of women and sexualisation of girls in media, advertising and popular culture.
OBJECT – challenges ‘sex object culture’ – the sexual objectification of women through lads’ mags, lap dancing clubs or sexist advertising.
OBJECT is an award-winning organisation that uniquely combines successful political lobbying with grass roots campaigning. We have changed laws, kindled action UK-wide and are regularly featured in leading media. Join us in our vision of a society free of ‘sex object culture’ and the harmful attitudes that this promotes (1).
UK Feminista – A movement of ordinary women and men campaigning for gender equality.
UK Feminista’s vision is a world where women enjoy all the rights enshrined in CEDAW – the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women – otherwise known as the ‘women’s bill of rights’.
Deep Green Resistance – It is not enough for us to be “good guys.” It is not enough to personally refrain from exploiting women. It is not enough for us to be personally conscientious and respectful to women. It is not enough to maintain equality in our own relationships with women. While all of those things are important, abstaining personally from outright oppressive behavior doesn’t challenge patriarchy as a system of power. Basic decency commands that we work alongside women to uproot and dismantle this entire patriarchal system– within ourselves, within our groups and communities, and within institutions and the culture at large.
Feminist Current – provide a unique perspective on pop culture, politics, current events, sexuality, gender, and other issues that are often underrepresented or misrepresented by other media sources.
End the right to rape.
NAWO and Eaves for Women are working together to address and challenge trafficking for sexual exploitation, through a variety of campaigning activities. These activities have particularly focused on influencing the draft Modern Slavery Bill, partly through the ‘Tiny Protest‘ campaign.
This is all part of the wider European Commission-funded Safety Compass project, in partnership with Marta (Latvia), The Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Latvia, the State Inspectorate for Protection of Children’s Rights (Latvia), Youth with a Mission, MTÜ Eluliin(Estonia) and Women@thewell (UK).
